Founded in 2011, originally as Gocableties (“Go-Cable-Ties”) by budding entrepreneur Freddie Miller, GTSE has grown from a small cable-tie venture into a technology-led, leading global supplier of trade products & consumables for businesses. Beginning life as a one-product idea quickly became a family affair: Freddie’s parents, Jon and Karen Miller, seasoned small-business owners, and ecommerce expert Tom Armenante joined the founding team, pooling hands-on experience in SME management and digital marketing to fuel the company’s expansion.
In 2014, we formally incorporated as Gocableties Ltd and launched our first website, Gocableties.co.uk. While all four directors maintained day jobs to support the business’s earliest stages, those formative years taught us invaluable lessons about customer needs, end-to-end supply chains and building strong relationships with suppliers. Steady month-on-month growth and the occasional large-volume order confirmed the huge potential of the sector.
By 2017, it was clear that GTSE’s ambitions could only be achieved if the Miller family and Tom committed full-time. Drawing on experience from a fast track programme to partner at PwC in Hong Kong, Freddie returned to his hometown of Chesterfield to lead GTSE’s next phase: launching on Amazon UK. This move ignited rapid growth, and over the following years, the business expanded into Amazon EU, Amazon US.
As the business developed in both range and customer sector targeting in 2021, it was clear a more all-encompassing brand was needed. Playing nicely off the new global element of the business and the trade supplies product offering GTSE.co.uk (the “Global Trade Supplies Exchange”) was born. Today, GTSE operates warehousing facilities across the UK, EU and US, and our dedicated team at our UK head office aids the successful processing over 3,000 orders daily, with a product offering of over 15,000+ SKUs.
Using all available expertise to grow the business globally, GTSEgroup.com was launched, expanding our wholesale distributor footprint to the US. Sales spearheaded by the vastly experienced Jason Burton, GTSE’s VP of Sales for North America, with a lengthy 13 years’ experience in the US cable tie market.
Although the business has scaled significantly, our family-first ethos remains at our core. We combine the close-knit team commitment and service of a family business with the logistics, technology and reach of an international supplier, ensuring every customer, whether around the corner or across the globe, gets exactly what they need, when they need it.
