This high-viscosity, thixotropic gel cures rapidly using an anaerobic system, forming an instant seal up to 10 bar when in contact with metals in the absence of air (oxygen). Once fully cured, it withstands pressures up to 200 bar and temperatures up to 180°C.
Applications
Designed for sealing flat-faced surfaces with close fits, this sealant is suitable for use against:
-
Water
-
Oil
-
Gases
-
Most commonly conveyed materials in sealing systems
Directions for Use
-
Ensure all parts are clean, dry, and free from dust.
-
Degreasing components will improve results.
-
Apply enough product to fully fill the joint.
-
Assemble parts in the usual manner.
-
Allow approximately 15 minutes for handling strength.
-
Store in a cool place, away from direct sunlight.
-
For slow curing on inactive surfaces or in low temperatures, use an anaerobic activator (not supplied).
Tip: For best results, apply the sealant as a continuous bead, avoiding blind holes. Wipe away any excess. Any product that migrates into lines will not solidify and can be flushed out during commissioning.
Properties
-
Fast fixture cure: <30 minutes at 20°C (on steel)
-
Temperature range: -50°C to +180°C
-
Break-loose torque: 12–18 N·m (ISO method 4)
-
Prevailing strength: ~6 N·m on M10 (ISO method 4)
-
Best for flat-faced assemblies with near-zero gaps (larger gaps will increase cure time)
-
Use of accelerators can reduce curing time but may lower final strength by up to 30%
